CSU - Pueblo celebrates National Poetry Month with poet readings
PUEBLO – In celebration of National Poetry Month, the final Southern Colorado Reading Series of the semester at Colorado State University-Pueblo will feature Denver poets Noah Eli Gordon and Eric Baus at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16 at in the CSU-Pueblo First-Year Center, second floor of the Library.
The Southern Colorado Reading Series is sponsored by the CSU-Pueblo English and Foreign Languages Department and brings established and published writers to campus, where they give community readings and visit creative writing classes.
Noah Eli Gordon is the author of six books, three of which were published in 2007: Novel Pictorial Noise (Harper Perennial, 2007; selected by John Ashbery for the National Poetry Series), Figures for a Darkroom Voice (Tarpaulin Sky 2007; in collaboration with poet Joshua Marie Wilkinson and artist Noah Saterstrom) and A Fiddle Pulled from the Throat of a Sparrow (New Issues 2007). His reviews and essays have appeared in numerous publications, including: Boston Review, Review of Contemporary Fiction, Poetry Project Newsletter, and the book Burning Interiors: David Shapiro’s Poetry and Poetics. He continues to write a column on chapbooks for Rain Taxi: Review of Books and teaches at the University of Colorado at Denver.
Eric Baus is the author of The To Sound (Wave Books, 2004), selected by Forrest Gander for the 2002 Verse Prize and Tuned Droves forthcoming from Octopus Books in 2008 as well as several chapbooks. He has published poems in Verse, Hambone, First Intensity, Colorado Review, and other journals. He edits Minus House chapbooks and is a contributing editor for PENNsound. He currently lives in Denver.
