Updated Information on Speakers--Lou Arellano and Mary Gunn!
We will have Lou Arellano, a licensed Certified Public Accountant with CBIZ Accounting, Tax & Advisory Services (one of the Colorado Nonprofit Association business members) joining us to share with us his knowledge and expertise on financial management of nonprofits during the morning session in Pueblo on April 9th. He specializes in tax and accounting for nonprofits and his experience includes both audit work and tax preparation as well as internal control analysis and reviews. He serves on the board of a nonprofit in Boulder. Lou's article entitled and his article entitled "Year-end Planning" appears in the November/December 2007 issue of Nonprofit Colorado.
Also, Mary Gunn of the David and Lucile Packard Foundation will be co-presenting the free informational session regarding the the changes to the Colorado Common Grant Application. Mary works with a board of up to eight local advisors who serve as a review panel for all Pueblo grants. She also conducts training for the advisory board, works with them to ensure that recommendations are for appropriate use and in compliance with Packard Foundation policies, and facilitates the work of nonprofits, boards, and other collaborations in Pueblo.

During this afternoon presentation, Charley Shimanski, President and CEO of the Colorado Nonprofit Association, will profile charitable giving, the economic impact of and challenges facing the nonprofit sector in Southeastern Colorado. Data from Return On Investment: The Economic Impact of Colorado Nonprofits as well as The State of Giving will be presented, including regional analysis and data not published in the reports.
