Ms. Hladek is Early Childhood Coordinator at Spanish Peaks Mental Health Center. She will describe the services of their new Early Childhood Program, how it was developed, how to access the services. She will field questions regarding early childhood mental illness and intervention options available.
This program is funded by the State of Colorado and focusses on prevention of early childhood (ages birth-to-5) mental health problems. As of 2007 the state is now covering mental health treatment for non-medicaid children; more details at the talk.
Ms. Hladek has worked at SPMHC for the past seven years ina a variety of positions on the Child/Adolescent team and recently took the newly formed position of Early Childhood Coordinator. Prior to her work at SPMHC she worked in the mental health field at a residential treatment facility with children ages 5-11 and at a group home with children ages 5-18. She has also been assistant director of a childcare center, had her own licensed home daycare, and has taught preschool.
