Monthly meeting of the Health and Human Resources Task Force of the 2010 Commission. Meeting is held on the 3rd floor of the Senior Resource Development Agency (SRDA), 230 N. Union Avenue. All persons interested in issues affecting Pueblo's health and human services are welcome to attend.

Special Invitation to entire health/human services community:

The Healthy Pueblo Communities 2010 Task Force has a new name, a new vision and a new mission and it all came about from the “World Café” that we held in February, 2007. Using the ideas that came from the “World Café” a core group of individuals has been meeting monthly to revamp and revitalize the Task Force as we look to the future. Through our long and sometime contentious discussions we decided that we had here-to-fore been spread too thin trying to represent the entire nonprofit sector in Pueblo. There are other task forces, such as recreation and culture, that can deal with the needs of those groups. We decided that we really needed to focus our attention on the health and well-being of our citizens. To that end we have made some changes.

‚Ä¢   Our name is now ‚Äì The Health and Human Services Task Force of the Pueblo 2010 Commission
‚Ä¢   Our new vision is- The Citizens of Pueblo County will enjoy physical mental and social well-being.
‚Ä¢   Our new mission is now- The Health and Human Services Task Force will foster the physical, mental and social health and well-being of the citizens of Pueblo County.

To accomplish our mission and reach for our vision we have created two committees:

‚Ä¢   The Health Action Committee is charged with assisting the HHS Task Force to establish partnerships with other health initiatives in Pueblo to empower these initiatives to make Pueblo a healthier community in which to live, work and play. Its goal is to empower the people of Pueblo to take charge of their health.

‚Ä¢   The Advocacy Committee will make relevant HHS needs known to the Pueblo public and to its governing entities in order that they may make informed judgments in fulfilling their responsibilities.

As you can see, your core committee has been hard at work for these past few months. Now we need all of you to come back to the group and to lend your skills, expertise and person power to making it possible to achieve the goals that we have set. Come on October 12 and choose the committee you want to work on. They can both use your help.

Our meeting times remain the same- the second Friday of the month from 8:45 AM-10:15 AM in room 301 at SRDA. I hope to see you at our next meeting on Friday, October 12.
