Seminar: Divorce is a traumatic experience. At First Presbyterian Church we try to provide a non-threatening, interfaith setting where you can find support as you deal with the emotions and decisions of this difficult time. Our hope is that by participating in this seminar you will be better equipped to handle the work of recovery.
Growing through loss: We want to support you in your time of crisis, and to help you begin the road to fulfillment, happiness and joy. In the words of Bruce Fisher, the author of the book recommended to accompany your recovery:
“The ending of your love relationship, your crisis can be made into a creative experience. A crisis usually includes emotional and psychological pain. If this pain can be embraced and used as a motivation to grow and adjust, it can also help you learn to take charge of your life. ... Pain is nature’s way of telling us that something in us needs to be healed.”

A Workshop for Separated or Divorced Persons of All Ages and Beliefs

The intent of this workshop is to provide support and growth opportunities. It is not intended to take the place of professional therapy or treatment.
Confidentiality is essential for small groups to be a safe place for discussion. Maintaining confidentiality is expected of all participants.

Registration Information

Who: Anyone experiencing divorce or separation.

Cost: $30. (Scholarships are available. Please talk with Suzanne D'Spain at 542-7322.)

Book: The book suggested to accompany DRW and on whose chapters the speakers draw for their talks is Rebuilding: When Your Relationship Ends (3rd edition) by Drs. Bruce Fisher and Robert Alberti. Please purchase at a local book store.

Childcare: Childcare will need to be arranged ahead of time by calling (719) 542-7322.
