Motivation: Encouraging you to take care of yourself

The body’s built-in stress responses were fine for jungle emergencies. They provided survival necessities: pounding heart, spiking blood pressure, surging hormones. But living day-in, day-out during modern living these emergency responses contribute to heart disease, immune deficiency, and chronic inflammatory diseases.

Awareness: The peace and power available within you

The first challenge is to become aware of the pains, tension, irritations, and anxieties that secretly drain your energy and health. Popping aspirin (or popping your boss) might make you feel better for a while, but such coping strategies won’t give you the control that leads to long-term health (or successful life and work).

Skills: Learning calm, confident, faith-filled effectiveness

You were born with the jungle stress-skills. The modern stress-skills that have been developed by psychological and biomedical researchers in the last 20 years are at the core of our stress management programs.

Background and Training

Richard Pinneau has an interdisciplinary background in psychology (Ph.D., University of Michigan), clinical biofeedback, organizational development, classical yoga, and digital information systems. He calls on various elements from these diverse fields according to client (individual or organization) needs and circumstances.

Habits: Practicing earthly effectiveness and divine dutifulness

Of course no one wants to spend all their time worrying about whether they’re worrying less. The bottom-line objective of W.P.R. training is to so engrain your new stress management skills that they become your automatic, positive ways of responding to pressures.

Richard is accustomed to working with individuals of highly diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, faiths, and organizational settings. Thirty years of professional work has shown him that there are universal principles that can be applied to benefit us in our individual, interpersonal, and larger-culture lives.
