DECEMBER 2007:
Conference call on December 12, 2007 confirmed our keynote speaker: Mike Roque, Pueblo native and current Director of the Denver office of Stategic Development. Mike is enthusiastic about sharing what they have learned about how nonprofit agencies can thrive by combining their programs and their funding applications.
Memorable quote from Mike (quoting Malcolm Gladwell in New Yorker article, “Million Dolar Murray"): “People living on the streets are not cheap.” Systematic research reveals that one homeless person costs on average $40,000 in services. Investing $15,000 to get him/her suitably housed can save that $40,000.
Judy Ivan is working on logo ideas so we can have something more creative than the square at upper left.
