MissionThe Arc of Pueblo is the advocacy arm of Pueblo’s services to Individuals with developmental disabilities. It's important and essential function is to promote equal opportunities for developmentally disabled persons to be contributing citizens in their community. The Arc’s advocacy services reflect its mission which is to ensure conditions which promote their rights, opportunity and dignity of each individual with developmental disabilities. History and BackgroundEstablished in 1958, The Arc has been effectual in progress seen in the education system, refinement of therapies, case management, community awareness and advocacy that has contributed to the success of many developmentally disabled citizens in Pueblo. The Arc of Pueblo relies heavily on willing and able volunteers. Parents, professional and interested citizens give countless hours of service to help meet the needs of persons with developmental disabilities and their families. The Arc of Pueblo is one of 1,300 state and local chapters of the Arc of The United States with 160,000 members nationwide. Together working toward high quality services, education, prevention, research, technology and encouraging progressive legislation and policy.
